Danny the dog had a dream. He dreamed he found a dinosaur hidden deep in the woods.

"Dad!" Danny yelled as he jumped out of bed. "I need to find a dinosaur today!"

Dad laughed and nodded. "Don't be late for dinner, Danny."

Danny dashed down the dirt road. His red sandals made a dud-dud-dud sound. He had his bad-weather hood tied around his middle and a wide-brimmed hat on his head.

"I need to find a good hiding spot for dinosaurs," said Danny.

The wind made the dried leaves dance around his feet. Danny stood and stared at the old pond in the middle of the woods.

"Dinosaurs need mud," he said with a nod.

Danny dipped his paw in the mud. It made a squishy sound.

Suddenly, he heard a loud sound. THUD! THUD! THUD!

"A dinosaur!" Danny dashed behind a dead tree.

The sounds got louder and louder. Danny's heart pounded hard.

A shadow moved behind the mud pond. Something big and round waddled toward him.

"Oh no!" cried Danny. "It's a mad dinosaur!"

But when the shape came around the pond, Danny started to giggle.

It wasn't a dinosaur at all! It was Fred the frog riding on the back of a duck!

"Fred! You scared me!" Danny said.

Fred grinned. "I found this duck stuck in the mud. I decided to ride him home!"

The duck didn't mind. He just quacked and paddled his wide feet.

"Can I ride too?" asked Danny.

So Danny, Fred, and the duck had a grand old time splashing in the mud pond all day long.
